Packing in a dilate
For any n ≥ 1 and a geometric shape P (e.g. a polygon, a polytope or a sphere), let C(n, P) denote the smallest scale s such that one can place n identical copies of P with disjoint interiors inside another copy of P scaled up by a factor of s.

The problem
For any and a geometric shape (e.g. a polygon, a polytope or a sphere), let denote the smallest scale such that one can place identical copies of with disjoint interiors inside another copy of scaled up by a factor of . Establish lower and upper bounds for that are as strong as possible.
AlphaEvolve found a construction better than the previous record (at publication).
What counts as progress
- A better construction or bound, with code that re-computes its value (reproducible) — ideally verified by an independent re-run.
- A proof that a known construction is optimal, or a better bound on the other side.
- Literature: earlier or newer records (literature claims).
